Project Description

The Home of Christians church building is a new approach to contemporary church design in the Los Angeles area. Discreet and modern the new building will house two worship spaces, two kitchens, a large fellowship hall, 10 religious education rooms, a library and more. Completed in two phases, the project is carefully designed to keep the services open to the community throughout the construction process. Environmentally conscious design features include a large array of rooftop solar panels which will provide 100% of the facilities electrical needs, low flow plumbing fixtures, zero VOC paint, and a drought tolerant landscape design.

The Home of Christians is a faith based non-profit organization that spreads the love of Jesus to the local Chinese immigrant community throughout Los Angeles County and has outreach programs in mainland China.  A bold group with a huge heart, HOC has been serving the community for over 30 years. Currently occupying three city lots and holding programs across several buildings, they approached Alloi to design a new structure to house the various needs of the community in an efficient and consolidated volume. With over a year of entitlements and design planning, the construction began in early 2014.
